As Imo First Lady, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha adds another year today… – JOI JOHN
Wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha is a year older today, December 1st.
As we join the first family to celebrate, it is noteworthy to mention that the Imo First lady has impacted several lives through various programmes initiated by her office. Through her pet project,Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI), She Needs A Roof Programme (SNARP) was launched. The office of the First lady has provided shelter for widows, orphans and the homeless in communities across the state.
The Imo First lady says that the establishment of SNARP was specifically informed by her encounter with some rural indigent widows and their abject living conditions. Moved by the dilapidated condition of the living quarters of these women and their families. SNARP was conceived as means to alleviate the sufferings of these women by providing a suitable shelter.
In 2013, Nneoma Kitchen was launched. The Program is designed to awaken the minds of our people on the importance pf being our brothers keepers. According to the first lady, it is a reminder to the affluent in the society to remember those who can barely survive the next minute because of hunger and despair. She says that if we all reach out and touch lives we would have Imo of our collective dreams and aspiration.
Wishing the First lady many more fruitful years ahead.
