Brand NEW Ultra-modern studio for Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC)

On a recent facility tour of  facility tour of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Imo Newspapers Limited and Government Press, the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, disclosed that our very own “IBC” was being upgraded  to an ultra modern studio!

 

Excerpts from a Press Release issued by the Ministry of Information & Strategy read as follows:

The Commissioner who acknowledged the numerous challenges experienced by workers at the various establishments, commended them for keeping afloat despite the daunting challenges but called on the management to come up with radical ideas that could turn around the situation for better within the next six months.

He assured the workers that Governor Rochas Okorocha is committed to his vision of revamping every sector of the state economy and urged them to develop an attitude of perseverance as the issues raised by the workers were already receiving attention of the state Governor.

At the Imo Broadcasting Corporation, the Information boss noted that his dream is to make the Television and Radio Stations of the Corporation the very best in Africa and promised to use his contacts to attract International Partnerships to revolutionalize IBC into a place of envy.

He further disclosed that the ultra modern studio which is under construction in IBC will be equipped with state of the art broadcasting equipment to fast track the realization Governor Okorocha’s vision of repositioning the state owned radio and television stations into a first class self sustaining broadcasting industry.

On the appeal made by the Editor-in- chief of the Imo Statesman Newspapers, Mr. Nnamdi Odoemena, the Hon. Commissioner stated that Governor Okorocha has great plans for the State owned Newspaper Company and assured the staff that a printing machine will soon be delivered to the company to increase its revenue base. He however called for vibrant collaboration and investment to inject fresh ideas that would propel the company forward and further challenged the management to strive towards daily publication of the newspaper.

While at the Government Press, Mr. Offor expressed regrets over the temporary inconvenience experienced by the workers due to expansion of the Government House and assured that a more befitting office accommodation was in view.

He revealed that government has commenced clearing and construction of a permanent office for the establishment considering the important role it plays in government. He therefore urged to remain patient as the Governor was doing everything to complete the site in no distant time.

The Commissioner rounded off his tour with a visit to the Archives Department of the Ministry where he assured the Director, Mrs. Ngozi Dike and the staff that necessary measures would be put in place to put the office to good shape.

The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Goddy Dike who accompanied the Commissioner on the tour, assured staff of IBC that the Ministry has concluded arrangements to regularize the appointments of guest artists as well as clear arrears of outstanding promotions of her staff.
