EDUCATION: Gov.Okorocha reiterates pledge to train all School Children in Imo.
According to a recent memo from the Goverment House, Governor Okorocha has adopted over 750,000 school children in Primary, Secondary school and tertiary institutions in the state.
While addressing Journalists, Governor Okorocha explained that the adoption involved taking responsibility of training them to the university level to alleviate the sufferings of parents in assuming such responsibility.
He further disclosed that all that was needed by Imo children in schools would be provided (uniforms, sandals, school desk, books and other learning materials.) He expressed happiness that the money parents would have used in paying their children’s school fees could be channeled to other appropriate use by parents to reduce hardship in various homes.
Governor Okorocha also said that with the training of Imo children, the spirit of patriotism would be revived in the minds of the children, stating that by the time they grow up, they would indeed realize that their state trained them as such learn how to give the state back what was given to them. He assured that with the adoption policy, the poorest families in the state would have their children in school. He also stated that more universities like Jesuit Loyola University would be sited in the state and therefore urged parents not to deprive their children from going to school as parent found depriving his or her child from going to school will definitly face the consequences.
