Governor Rochas, Madumere and their Brand-Fashion statement.
On this day, July 4, 2012, Governor Okorocha’s Chief of Staff Prince Eze Madumere, who happens to be my immediate boss will be clocking 48. Hey Boss, Happy Birthday. Thank you for all the painstaking effort in grooming all of us.
You take us all under you as your children that you take it as a responsibility that you teach us what life is all about by your actions and inactions. Sorry for choosing a time like this to address you and you Boss’s life-style. It is just how my heart so desired it.
Yes, men of humility, proactive, professionally prompt and rapid they are when it comes to responding to issues of import to the lives of the people around them. Their working relationship like father and son, people still cannot comprehend the market mix. In these areas, great fashion sense Governor Okorocha and his Chief of Staff Prince Eze Madumere make.
Their human and public relations make them even more fashionable to the heart of the people, staff and Imo publics. Hard work and the duo could be used interchangeably.
Recently, the Imo indigenes in Law Schools had ambushed their Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha in his absence on Sunday, June 17, 2012 but were resisted by the gallant security apparatchik of the Governor. As he was driving by all alone, Prince Eze Madumere sought knowing what the problem was. He pleaded with the Imo Students to come back the next day. What happened? Chief of Staff met with his boss, Governor Rochas Okorocha who responded promptly. Governor Okorocha called off other official engagements to meet with over one hundred Imo lawyers in the making. What happened in that meeting your sincerely could find out from Imo sons and daughters in law school campuses? For me, I will not let the cat out of the bag. All I know was that those Imolites left with joy believing they have a government. I do not know how the duo is being perceived in the public mirror. For me, they are great brands and make great enduring fashion statement for the public.
Again the working Governor Rochas who makes sure he accomplishes a task, even in shorts, in a record time with quality as could be seen in strides in one year in office makes him ever green a fashion in the eyes of the public but what does he do when it comes to wastages? The answer is no? Does that make a good brand image? Yes, it does to me.
How selective are the two regarding who they choose to see? They see everyone irrespective of the age, background and status. His Excellency, as the Chief servant to Imo people takes it that Imo people are his boss. Yes! Also as a father, he thinks for the future of his Children and what happens to their children-children. This vision beyond the present generation has caused the obstinacy of the Governor as it concerns his policy thrust and its meticulous implementation. What do we say about that? It is a fashion statement. It is one great secret and strength of Owelle Rochas Okorocha brand image.
Last Democracy Day, May 29, 2012, His Excellency and his team preferred to celebrate with the future leaders of Imo State teaching them the basics for great men. Hard work, avoiding procrastination, patriotism, packaging oneself for better appreciation and above all, sacrificing when necessary to achieve a set goal. Imo State Governor preferred to play with Imo Children on that faithful Day even in a heavy rain. Isn’t that a great image in impartation for great future leaders?
In continuation of his reformatory character for democratic tradition, at the present, Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is seeing the Imo State Stakeholders. Please not the usual stake holders of fraud like we have in “People deceiving People Fora” but those that are real representatives of their people that cut across party affiliations. His Excellency would ask to know their reservations with his policies and how they have been affected by the Rescue Mission Government. Governor Okorocha would open the floor after keeping the people abreast of his stewardship for them to bare their minds and what they really want from the Government. This is Democracy in Action. This is a strong brand of democratic principle and would ever remain fashionable.
Chief of Staff, Prince Eze Madumere ones engaged the challenged individuals in a meeting when they came to ask for their place. People gathered to watch Chief of Staff and his guests. That encounter made the day of this writer. I appreciated patience and service with love. These are back bones to Image of quality leadership. It is permeating and piercing. You can feel it. These challenged Imolites walked away from Government House happier than they had come. That’s Great Image, beautiful image for Imo Government.
For fashion and clothing or simply put the appearances of Governor Okorocha and Prince Madumere, give it to His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He dresses well and keeps it simple but magnetic. Governor Okorocha’s scintillating dress sense has at every opportunity expressed his disgust for bad dressers. However, he is not known for unnecessary expensive and lavishing wears, which may not be unconnected to his meticulous nature when it comes to prioritizing between fashions (Clothing) and making life meaningful for the children of the poor and the future of his people.
For his Chief of Staff, he is also a great dresser indeed. Fashion conscious he is but like his boss, he still keeps it simple and patronizes Nigerian designers. But one thing that has rather stood him out is his adoption of ‘trainers’ Canvass or Snickers even for traditional attires.
This has drawn so much criticism over this Mbieri born politician’s preference for this foot wears to other corporate shoes. The media have tried bringing this matter about Prince Eze Madumere to the public but that could not change a thing.
Then this writer tried reaching out to him just to offer an advice. He appreciated the advice and the fashion laws but simply asked; is it still fashionable wearing what you are not comfortable in? He queried to know how these laws were made and whose culture are they.
“Yes, we are in a global village. We copy from one another but not everything and not because Mr. A says it. I am comfortable with this simple foot wears. By the way ain’t they good looking? It’s just a psychological thing. Brain washing and all are my take. I will take your advice in so far they do not affect my comfort while doing my job.
For Madumere, here him,
“I have seen designers come up with all sort of crazy outfits that even defile the so called fashion laws and yet we hail and fall over one another. The real fashion for me is that we achieve what may be useful to our generation and those yet unborn. Such legacies would remain fashionable even after we would have gone. That is fashion for me. When we begin to grow old, we get weary and nothing is so sweet any more but the greatest and sweetest gift we can give ourselves is to touch lives. By this we would have built a brand that will eternally remain fashionable.”
Did you get that, that’s quite philosophical? Hello, shall we begin to appreciate the substance of a fashion. What’s your brand image? Is it a painted sepulcher, which the content is filled with skeletons that are lifeless? Food for though it is.
Do have a great day!
