Okorocha is running Imo state like his private estate” – Imo PDP Chairman, Anyaehie cries out.
While addressing newsmen over the weekend, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie accused the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha of plunging Imo into huge debts, which he said will take the state more than 20 years to exit.
“Never in the history of the entire south east has any state been so recklessly administered like the current administration in Imo State. It is a wonder how a governor whose conscience is still alive could watch his people suffer and gnash their teeth with months of unpaid salaries, pensions, poor quality projects, high cost of living, mindless demolition of peoples’ property and excessive borrowing to the extent that the banks have stopped further lending to the state. It is sad that every month, banks collect almost all the allocations that comes to the state to service the huge debts owed them by the state governor.”
“Okorocha runs Imo like his private estate and behaves as if there won’t be any Imo state tomorrow. He is busy amassing the wealth of Imo people with family members and this is in a state where, workers and pensioners have not been paid for about six months.
“What is worse is that the state has been plunged into a huge debt amounting to over N100 Billion and when he finally leaves as governor of the state, it may take successive administrations over 20 years to pay up the debts accumulated by his administration,” he said
