PROGRESS REPORT: Massive road construction in Imo state.
In continuation of our “Progress Report” photo series, we will be sharing some photos of the on-going road constructions in the State. A few months back, the State Government embarked on major road reconstruction projects across the State.
Your humble Editor, Joi John is seen as she is just about to take off on her Keke for the road tour. We had to go around to see things with our koro-koro eyes. No more “Internet – Abracadra’s!
Those who visited home for the Christmas holidays will testify that indeed, our roads have gotten a “face-lift”. Thanks to the Owelle Rochas Okorocha Administration!
The Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso who is also the State Commissioner for Works deserves ” two thumbs up” as he works hard to ensure that Governor Okorocha’s vision is achieved. It is not easy to manage two portfolio’s effectively. In a little over 6 months, the Ministry of Works under his leadership has brought improvement to our road network.
Also, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu who we learnt is assisting in the supervision of the road projects should be commended. All hands are on deck to give Imo the best.
The pictures below were shot at different parts in the State.
…..and we are done with our mini-tour!!!
“Shout out” to our driver who drove us around safely in his comfortable Keke Benz “convertible”. Our mini inspection tour was impressive. There was an ease in traffic as more roads had opened up. Even when we went into the rural areas, the roads were relatively smooth.
Last week, it was announced that the sum of One billion naira had been released to each of the 27 local governments in Imo state to execute the 15km road projects and other capital projects approved by the state government.
Looking at our roads today, the Imo Rescue Mission has done quite well. Where they excel, we should commend and encourage them. Likewise where we spot a “RED FLAG”, we should not hold back in criticizing constructively.
More photos will be uploaded in subsequent postings. In the meantime, if you have pictures of construction work being done in your local government or street, please send them to us via email: imostateblog at gmail dot com. Thanks.
