The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has expressed shock over the plane crash in Lagos on Sunday.
In a release signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Uche Anichukwu, Sen.Ekweremadu described the incident as “shocking and emotionally devastating”.
“This is shocking beyond words, especially given the noticeable efforts at repositioning the nation’s aviation industry and when we thought we had put the air the disasters of early 2000’s behind us.
‘We must therefore work together as a nation to get to the root of the mishap, strengthen air safety, and arrest any form of relapse in this critical sector”, he added.
The Deputy President of the Senate sent his heartfelt condolences to the victims families and urged Nigerians to remain calm and pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of the dead.
