DIASPORA: Imo State Government to appoint International Liason Officers.

Governor Rochas Okorocha has disclosed plans to appoint International Liaison Officers (ILO) in every Community of the State.

The Governor disclosed this at various Town Hall meetings in the United States and recently during a sensitization tour of Nwangele Local Government Area on the proposed Community Government Council (CGC).

Gov.Okorocha called on the Communities in Imo State to each nominate three of their indigenes resident in America, Europe or Asia who will be appointed as the International Liaison Officers (ILO) for the Community.

This initiative according to the governor will encourage their sons and daughters in Diaspora to close ranks to ensure a speedy development of the rural Communities in the State.

You must understand that most of the franchise in Nigeria came from south Africa,MTN,NANDOS,,checkers,makro etc he should not overlook our achievement in industrial development and include south Africa as a matter of urgency.
Irrespective of the criminal tag on south african nigerians.

Priority today is jobs, jobs and security. Stop wasting resources in dancing around akpuruka.

I find it difficult to believe that there is any seriousness in what the Governor is asking for. I wrote to the Governor (registered mail)to offer development ideas from Canada, but there was no response. I followed up with a phone call, but I was rudely answered by some one on the Governor’s personal line.

What will the Diaspora Community Liason accomplish for the Governor or Imo State? I see this as a populist move to make the people believe the Governor is reaching out. We have qualified, experienced Imo sons and daughters in Diaspora willing to help only if the Governor arrests the insecurity in the state, then heartly embraces the willing sons and daughters of Imo State. Here in Canada, any letter to the Prime Minister gets attentntion and response atleast from the Prime Minister’s office. Imo State throws such letters in the garbage unless you are their right-hand members.
