Doctors, Nurses hold protest at the House of Assembly over Dr. Moses Amako’s death.

True to their word, the Hospital workers held a protest at the State House of Assembly over Dr. Moses Amako who  died shortly after he was released from Kidnapptivity in Owerri.   Prior to Dr. Amako’s death, he served as the Chief Medical Director of Imo Specialist Hospital , Umuguma.

Vanguard reports that the protesters were received at the House of Assembly by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Donatus Ozoemena. Leader of the   group, Mr. Anthony Nkwocha, lamented that their boss was shot, kidnapped, kept in the custody of his captors for days, collected a huge ransom before being released.

Nkwocha equally grieved over the abduction of yet another senior colleague, Dr. Greg Onunwa, stressing that health workers in the state were not covered by the Health Insurance Scheme.

In his response, Deputy Speaker, Mr. Donatus Ozoemena, assured that the state government remained unrelenting in its efforts towards creating a crime-free state. He expressed concern that  Igbos now took delight in abducting their brothers and sisters for ransom, He called on all Royal Fathers and Community leaders to assist the Government in exposing the hoodlums.

So, we have another case of kidnap?
