On Wednesday, Governor Rochas Okorocha received Hajia Amina Mohammed, the Minister of Environment of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ms.Mohammed led a delegation to the state in order to discuss with His Excellency on issues erosion menace and environmental degradation and to see first hand the menace of erosion in the state.
Gov. Okorocha made it known to the minister and her delegation that the state has more than 24 hazardous erosion sites that requires federal intervention and oil spillage that has been occurring without support from the oil companies involved. He thanked the minister for her concern for the state and took her to some of the affected sites including the Nekede Erosion site.
