The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has described as baseless and unfounded the allegation by Mischief Makers that one of the on-going monumental projects of the Rescue Mission Government, the Okigwe Princess Hotel, had collapsed.
Briefing newsmen after inspecting the construction site, Governor Okorocha maintained that the Princess Hotel is on the land mark projects of administration and all efforts were being made to ensure that the project stands the test of time.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of job at the site especially the foundation which he confirmed as quite strong. “So those who are alleging that the building has collapsed, how come? Because there has not been any casting at all. The project is at the foundation. So foundation couldn’t have collapsed. He maintained.
He however noted that job was quite slow but assured that the contractors will be made to speed up on the project to ensure its completion within the life of the present administration.
Governor Okorocha also inspected the on-going Okigwe Township Stadium where hecommended the quality of job on the site and expressed optimism that the stadium will be completed before the end of the year.
He further promised that all major roads in Okigwe will be dualised with street lights installed on them as well as completion of all on-going link roads and other projects in the area, among which include, the eleven primary schools and the new Ultra Modern General Hospital.
The governor expressed appreciation for the support which the Okigwe people have given his administration and urged them to embrace the All Progressives Congress to ensure greater dividends of democracy in the country.
