According to the Leadership NewsPapers:
The National Union of Imo State Students (NUISS) has protested the proposed visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the state, describing the visit as a political jamboree which is of no importance to the state.
Addressing journalists yesterday shortly after its congress, the NUISS president, Comrade Ereziefor Amarachi, said they are yet to understand the reason for the visit and its benefit to the people of the state.
He maintained that although Imo State produced the second largest vote in the country for the president in 2011 general election, the president has never visited to commission any project in the state.
He therefore reiterated the group’s resolve to continue to support Governor Rochas Okorocha especially with his youth friendly policies.
He described as unethical the criticism of Governor Okorocha by the minister of foreign affairs, Prof Viola Onwuliri, in a radio programme in the state recently, describing her utterances as a “piper dancing to the tune of her master.”
He revealed that the union has passed a vote of confidence on the governor and urged him to remain focused and not to be distracted by his critics.
