Imo Air will help boost economy and provide jobs to Imo people – Nwosu


cos 2The Chief of Staff Imo state Government house Owerri, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has showered praises on his principal for achieving yet another trail blazing feat with the flag off of the IMO AIR. Briefing newsmen shortly after the auspious ocassion, Nwosu expressed his immeasurable joy at the development which he said places the state as the first in Nigeria to own an airline company as the Governor led other principal officers of the government to take delivery of first batch of airlines at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri.

The Airline which would be known as ‘IMO AIR’ is to be operated by the Dana airline and is ready to compete favorably with other operators in the Nigerian Aviation Sector.

According to Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, when finally operational, the airline would help to boost the economy of the state, especially in the years ahead, as well as provide massive job opportunities to Imo people and open business opportunities to Imolites, Igbo’s and Nigerians in general.

He said that currently the entire south east zone rely on other parts of the country like Lagos, Kano which has cargo airport for their imports and export business and expressed the readiness of Owelle Okorocha as usual to make Imo state play the leading role in correcting the abnormality. He noted that Igbo’s are more into exports and imports business and saw it as an abnormality that till date the zone has no single international cargo airline.
