Imo State Government has wished Muslim community resident in the state a successful trip to Mecca, Saudi Arabia for the 2015 Hajj celebration, advising them to demonstrate good conduct that would project the image of the state in good light.
Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Sir Jude Ejiogu gave this advice through the Permanent Secretary in charge of his office, Mr. Eddy Igharo during their visit to the Cabinet Office, along Sam Mbakwe road, Owerri, the capital of Imo State on Tuesday, September 15th, 2015.
He charged the intending pilgrims to proclaim the goodness of God who has made Imo state a better place and as well, for founding them worthy of carrying the banner of the state to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
He therefore implored them to remain prayerful, vigilant and security conscious to avoid anything that could dent the image of the state, warning them not to be involved in any immorality, drug-pushing, illegal trading or abscondment.
Speaking on behalf of the state intending pilgrims, Hon. Faisal Lawal expressed happiness for government’s support in ensuring a successful 2015 pilgrimage, and advised them to be of good behaviour and shun anything capable of bringing their names or the country to ridicule.
