Imo is obeying the rule of Law – Attorney General, Barr. Soronnadi Njoku.

The Rescue Mission Administration  led by Governor Rochas Okorocha, has been noted to have followed the rule of law in its style of governance.

This was made known by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Barrister Soronnadi Njoku while speaking to newsmen in his office at the State Secretariat, Owerri.

According to the commissioner, contrary to views being bandied by some individuals in the state, Governor Okorocha is in no way violating the rule of law and government was not using extra ordinary means to achieve its aims.

He stated that Imo people are enjoying greater dividends of democracy and freedom of speech in the present administration as against their experiences in the past.

On the clamour for the decentralization of the police force, the commissioner said that this has become necessary in order to check the menace of terrorism, militancy and violent crimes in the country.

He explained that the police as controlled by the Federal Government lacks adequate presence in the rural areas where crimes are hatched rather on the highways and the city centres.

Barrister Njoku urged Imo people to take advantage of the services departments in his ministry, especially the Department of Fairness and Justice, the settling of disputes.
