IMSG reacts to Chief Iwuanyanwu over alleged death threat by Gov.Okorocha
The Rescue Mission Government in the state has acknowledged the publications in the newspapers and claims on the radio by Chef Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu denying some complimentary remarks he made recently about the governor of the state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha on his achievements which were being aired on the IBC Orient FM. Chief Iwuanyanwu has also claimed that his voice was cloned by the administration. In one of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s newspaper publications on the issue he disclosed that he had also called the management of the IBC to claim that his voice was cloned.
Also making a similar claim is the former governor of the state, Chief Achike Udenwa, who had also commended the governor for his prudence and achievements in the state also recently, which is equally being aired on the Orient FM. The former Governor, like Chief Iwuanyanwu has also claimed that his voice was cloned.
Let us first of all state that the Rescue Mission government in the state holds both Chief Iwuanyanwu and Chief Udenwa in a very high esteem. Hence, we have always exercised caution on matters concerning them and the state government. That is also why we had delayed in replying the two prominent sons of the state, even when Chief Iwuanyanwu had also made an unfortunate claim that His Excellency wants to kill him.
Even without our reacting to the denials by the two sons of the state of the good comments they had made about the governor and his administration recently, Imo people should be able to know who should be saying the truth. The Rochas’ administration has a known character. The character of stating the obvious at any given time.
It is unimaginable to think that the government of Rochas Okorocha would clone anybody’s voice for any reason. Therefore, we want to reiterate that the voices being aired on Orient FM were those of Chief Iwuanyanwu and Chief Udenwa. And we challenge them to proceed to Court to prove their claim. It is not enough to call IBC management on phone to caution them. More serious action should be taken by those concerned to prove that their voices were cloned.
If the two illustrious sons of the state had claimed that the circumstances that warranted the fanciful remarks they made about the governor and his administration were different from the circumstances of today, perhaps, because of the elections, that could be understood. But to claim that their voices were cloned, were most uncharitable to the State Government and we take exception to that.
For the claim of Chief Iwuanyanwu that the Governor wants to kill him, we simply tender our denial because throughout his life, Governor Okorocha has not been associated with killing either directly or indirectly. Imo people know those that have been associated with killings.
