A group under the aegis of Non Indigenes Resident in Imo State has joined numerous progressive groups to throw her weight behind Governor Okorocha and his deputy, Prince Madumere over the twosome’s exemplary leadership qualities.
In their Statement during a courtesy visit to the office of deputy Governor, through their leader, Chief Nnadozie Udensi, the group commended the effort of the government in transforming the State for which they say is beginning to bring about growth in economy of the State as business opportunities are springing up. Chief Udensi also applauded Rescue Mission Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha for her education policy, which made education affordable even to the non indigenes by reducing tuition to fifty percent. He however appealed to the governor to make education free for non indigenes saying they are part of Imo State by virtue of their business establishments and for having lived in State for over thirty years with their families, which he said qualifies them as Imolites.
Chief Udensi further extolled the virtue of Prince Madumere who he described as humble leader whose leadership qualities and transparency is unequaled. He observed that Governor Okorocha made no mistake in his choice of Prince Madumere as his deputy.
The group which draws its members from every geopolitical zone also applauded Governor Okorocha for his unrivaled effort on security, which culminated in the healthy security and progressive situation that is being enjoyed in the State, while promising the group’s readiness to perform their obligations as required by law and other civic responsibilities in appreciation of Governor ‘s good work.
The leader of the group showered encomium on Governor Okorocha for his Nigerian spirit saying he remains the only Governor in Nigeria who has an unequaled large numbers of non indigenes as political appointee in his government. He assured the group’s readiness to go all hug when needed for show of strength in support of Owelle Rochas Okorocha Government with over three hundred thousand of its members.
Responding to their call, Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere thanked the group for their solidarity visit. He reminded them of Governor Okorocha’s detribalized nature, which has never been in doubt. He assured them of government’s continued partnership and dividends of democracy to all as Imo government is for all irrespective of ethnic or tribal background since everyone present was a Nigerian.
He therefore called on the group to maintain the status of good citizenship and join hands with the government in fight against crime in whatever guise, appealing to them to join in “know your neighbour campaign” recently launched by Governor Okorocha.
Prince Madumere promised to work towards given them a desired recognition in government activities as he gave assurance to take their requests to the governor whom he described as a listening leader.
