Nwosu encourages Journalists to criticize constructively.

18425566_10155197797032570_653201826907370690_nThe chief of staff ,Imo state Government House,Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has encouraged journalists to maintain objectivity in their reportage while also making constructive critism where necessary .

Chief Nwosu stated this while addressing the Management team of the Imo Newspapers Limited Publishers of the new Statesman group of Newspapers who paid him a courtesy visit in his office .He said Journalism is a noble profession that had contributed greatly in building the nation and leaders accountable to the masses.

He commended the General Manager of Imo Newspapers,Sir Jude Nkpado for the wonderful transformation he had brought to bear in the company within a very short stay at the helm of affairs of the company .He said he was not suprised having known Sir Nkpado works at Imo Lands and Lands as The General Manager still speaks volumes for him.

He also appreciated the Management team for their support for the G.M,noting that without their support,the statesman wouldn’t have made the progress it had made within the short period of time.”Behind every sucessfil Manager there must be a good Management Team”.

He encouraged them to make sure the paper circulates outside the shores of Nigeria .He expressed happiness on the mark the paper is making with its online publishing.He noted that Imolites in Diaspora are always eager to know what is happening back home and called on the statesman team up cover the gap.

He promised to look into all their challenges with a view of finding lasting solution to them.He said since the paper will soon clock 40 ,that the state Government will do everything within its powers to make sure Statesman does not become a fool at Forty.

Nwosu noted that His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha,the Execurive Governor of Imo state is a leader who is always fast in achieving his goals and observed that he had greatly transformed the state to the chagrin of most Imolites ,especially the opposition.He called on Imo people to pray for Governor to realize all his good plans for the state.

Earlier in his address,The General Manager of Imo Newspapers Limited,Sir Jude Nkpado had thanked the Chief of staff for granting them them audience .He said the team was at his office to intimate him of the progress made so far by the management of the New Statesman as well as some of their challenges.

He informed the chief of staff that the new Statesman has remain constant in its production since inception .He said that under the new arrangement which started early this year ,the paper had produced over 1.5 million copies and circulates around most parts of the country and has been enjoying wider readership,adding that the quality was totally upgraded.

On the challenges facing his Management,Sir Nkpado informed the chief of staff that the staff of the company are greatly underpaid .He said they lack mobility to circulate the paper within and outside of the state .Other factors include lack of patronage from Government officials,especially in the area of placing adverts on the paper.

He appreciated the Governor,Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the chief of staff for giving him the opportunity to contribute in reviving the statesman .He made it clear that the chief of staff had always been there for him .
He however beckoned on him to use his good office to help them overcome the challenges.
