If the account of what transpired over the weekend in Okigwe is anything to go by then, the lawmaker representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency of Imo State, under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Obinna Onwubuariri is set to trade in his umbrella for a new cloak from the All Progressives Congress Party.
At an event he hosted over the weekend, Onwubuariri was full of praises for the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Applauding the Governor for his giant strides, he called on his fellow comrades of the PDP extraction to lend their support to the Okorocha led administration.
According to him, “We saw when Governor Rochas Okorocha was breaking down illegal structures in Owerri capital city, people start crying and insulting him but today they have started praising him to continue his good works….what we need now is to support Governor Rochas Okorocha in his good works to develop Imo State and make Imo better for our people.”
If there were any doubts over the young politicians future with the PDP, all silent questions were settled when the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Uche Nwosu took the microphone. “Obinna Onwubuariri is wearing cloth of PDP but what is in him, is the spirit of APC.I want to announce to you and I have seen it that in no distance time Obinna Onwubuariri will join the APC.” Known as a man of few words, Nwosu’s speech to the crowd confirmed that Onwubuari was warming up to do the political catwalk over to the governing All Progressives Congress Party (APC). Stay tuned.
