Imo Governorship tribunal drama. All eyes on Abuja…..o setti ele!

The stage is set.

As we wait to see the neutrality of  the judiciary in this controvercial court case between the Imo PDP and the incumbent State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, we have to remember that what is being decided today is the PEOPLE’S FATE and not that of the POLITICAL PARTIES  involved.

The political parties have done their part by bringing out candidates for us to choose and we did.  The results announced from the May 6th elections   denied former state governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim a second term. The results were challenged in court.

On November 12th, 2011, the election tribunal sitting in Owerri upheld the election of  Governor Rochas Okorocha. Again, the verdict was challenged in  to court. That, is the beauty of democracy….we fight till the end.

As we wait for today’s verdict, we cannot forget that the government under the Ikedi Ohakim Administration was perceived as good by some people and bad by some others. “Pipty-Pipty” .

Comparing both the previous and yet to be tested government of  Owelle Rochas Okorocha, majority tend to be pleased with the new Administration. Despite the challenges in the area of crime, the on going projects in the state attest that the state government is working towards restoring the glory days of Imo.

Is it too soon to take away from the Imo people their perceived “Messiah” or return to status quo? Are we willing to accept whatever we hear  from the Courts today or do we bring the election back to the Imo people to decide by holding a second gubernatorial election?

How will the fate of the Imo people be decided?
