Imo State’s , Prince Amukamara was one of the four Nigerian players that participated in the just concluded Superbowl XLVI in faraway obodo oyibo. Coincidentally, all four players were from the Igbo extraction. Prince hails from Awo-Omamma in Imo State and plays cornerback for the New York Giants.
Prince is pictured above with his family. It is worthy to note that his Mother, Mrs.Christy Amukamara represented Nigeria in Track and Field at the 1984 Summer Olympics game. So, truly Sports flows in his veins. His Father, Mr.Romanus Amukamara is a lecturer.
Prince has enjoyed a very successful career in Sports. Wikipedia notes that , prior to enlisting with the New York Giants in 2011, Amukamara was a track & field standout in several events, and was one of the Hawks’ most explosive weapons on the football field.
The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football in the United States, culminating a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year. This game is held at a selected site, usually a city that hosts an NFL team. The Super Bowl XLVI was played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, on February 5, 2012, to determine the champion of the 2011 season. Amumakara made Imo State proud on the field with his team defeating the New England patriots in a 21-17 win on Sunday night.
