CGC DRAMA: Looted government vehicles, unaccounted revenue in Ezinihitte Mbaise.

“A political pressure group in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, Ezinihitte Youth Vanguard, has vehemently condemned the atrocious activities and blackmail carried out in the media by one David Nwoko of Owutu Autonomous community in the area.
Briefing newsmen in Owerri last weekend, the Coordinator/Chairman of the youth vanguard, Chief Chilaka Ibe allegedly accused the latter of blackmailing leaders of the ruling party in the State, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and engaging in the looting of council’s vehicles and internally generated funds in collaboration with former committee Chairman, Chief Dr. Hillary Ekeh.
According to Chief Ibe,
“the EYV is aware that Mr. Nwoko is not only a pretender but he connived with the transition committee chairman, Chief Hillary Ekeh to take away a functioning black 406 peugeot car from the local government for repairs in his Aba mechanic workshop, but never returned it till date. We know that the said car is now hidden in his backyard at Owutu, while a Hiace bus he was given for revenue drive is yet to be returned to the council.”
The EYA boss, Chief Chilaka Ibe stated that his organization is not surprised with the actions and blackmail of Nwoko, because of his antecedents and character which border on duplicity and poor relationship with his people. He further threatened to involve the EFCC,
“we are also aware that he never accounted for the revenue collected. At the appropriate time, the EFCC will hold him and his cohorts to account for their dubious actions” he said.
Further speaking, the EYA through its coordinator insisted that the restructuring of APGA in Ezinihitte was done in the open by leaders of the party in the area after which the stakeholders applauded the exercise as being transparent, free and fair.
In his words:
“For the avoidance of doubt, we say that in accordance with directives of the National and state leadership of APGA, vacant positions in the LGA and wards where weak officers were filled should be replaced so to strengthen the party for future elections. This was done in the most transparent and equitable manner. If Nwoko and his co-travelers lost out in the exercise, they should take their fate with calmness, rather than criticizing a most hassle-free exercise.
He further challenged David Nwoko to produce any contestant who paid anybody to be nominated for any position in Community Government Council (CGC), adding that the traditional rulers and their subjects gathered in town halls and voluntarily nominated three persons per position in the presence of the electoral officers sent in from Owerri.”
