Not too long ago, our State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha was honoured with a Chieftaincy title of ‘Owelle Ndi Okigwe’ by the people of the zone.
The honour was bestowed on the Governor in recognition of his commitment to transform the zone.
Speaking shortly after the honour was bestowed on him during a reception organized in his honour by the leaders ofOkigwe zone, governor Okorocha reassured that his administration will deliver on its electoral promises and further ensure that Okigwe is developed.
He urged the people of the zone to join hands with his government t o ensure that the state is totally transformed.
Gov. Okorocha maintained that t he zonewas fairly treated in his appointments as many Okigwe sons and daughters are appointed into prominent positions, adding that the zone has all it takes to liberate itself from the shackles of under-development.
He reiterated his administration’s readiness to create jobs even as he warned the youth s against crime and social vices that are capable of ruining their future.
Gov. Okorocha also promised adequate security during the yuletide, adding that all the rural roads would be made motorable under the ongoing road revolution embarked upon by the state government.
In a keynote address by Prof. Ezeadi O. Ezeadi, the people of Okigwe appealed to Gov. Okorocha for additional road construction and developmental projects in the state and regretted over the undue marginalization Okigwe zone has suffered over the years.
