A full week has passed since Governor Rochas Okorocha escaped death in the ghastly accident along Owerri-Orlu Rd.
While the Governor’s media team has done an outstanding job in managing news reports surrounding the incident so far, the unavailability of pictures from the accident scene may have given room for many negative “theories” behind the accident to thrive. The decision to withhold the identity of the other victim from the accident (driver) has not helped matters either.
IMO STATE BLOG made contact with Governor Okorocha’s Chief Protocol officer; here’s what Mr. Alfred Ononugbor had to say:
“Any convoy is made up of a number of vehicles before and behind the staff car. With moving vehicles flagged down, two vehicles were ahead of the yellow Benz.
As the staff car advanced, the yellow Benz suddenly pulled out to the road into it causing a deadly impact.
Ononugbor further explained to IMO STATE BLOG that Gov.Okorocha on impact sustained a deep cut on his head and bled profusely informing why he had to be rushed to the hospital for primary management.
If the governor was in a light vehicle, it would have been a different story by now I must admit. He hit his head on a treated glass or what people refer to as “bullet proof windshield”.
Except police investigation, we are yet to determine the real cause of the driver’s motive…..” he said.
