Governor Okorocha visits Kano over Boko Haram attacks.
The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is in Kano for on-the-spot assessment of the recent bomb attacks by the Boko Haram sect.
While in Kano, Gov. Okorocha will access the level of destruction of lives and property especially as it affects Igbos and other Nigerians. The Governor will also pay a visit to his counterpart and Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Rabin Kwakwanso and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero to condole with them over the attack on the people of the state.
The visit is in line with Gov. Okorocha’s commitment to the peaceful co-existence of all Nigerians regardless of their ethnic background.
He urged Nigerians to view the attack by the Boko Haram sect as one aimed at the nation rather than ethnic, religious and sectional.
The Imo state Governor called on Nigerians to rise above religious and ethnic sentiments and work collectively towards building a nation of our dreams.
EDITORS NOTE: This is a very bold step by Governor Okorocha. His Excellency should be applauded. Since the Governor is already there. It would also be nice kwa nu if he stopped by in Maiduguri (Borno State) and Yobe as well to see if he can dialogue with Boko Haram over the killing of Igbo’s in their state.
Who will speak for us?
