I have fulfiled all my campaign promises – says Uwajumogu


The Speaker Imo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu has said he is a happy and fulfilled man for having delivered on all the campaign promises he made to the people of Ihitte-Uboma local government area of the state in 2011.

The Speaker spoke yesterday, while receiving various Okigwe youth and women groups that were in his Umuihi,Ihitte-Uboma residence to endorse him as their sole candidate for the Okigwe senate position in 2015.

‘’I can say with confidence today, that I have delivered in all the promises I made during my campaign in 2011. Today ,I am happy to tell every one of you that I am a happy and fulfilled man having delivered on all my promises during the 2011 campaign and even went further to do more for my people.”

‘’We influenced key legislations that made the citing of the college of education technical Ihitte-Uboma, the Imo state Polytechnic Ehime mbano campus , the Malaysia market Umungwa, the citing of Umungwa/Amanze Housing Estate possible, which we know that after completion will advance and bring sustainable development to my constituency and Okigwe zone at large. We attracted roads, schools, hospitals, electricity projects, water projects and education that is free up to tertiary level, which has laid a solid foundation for economic prosperity and infrastructural development of zone.”

Most importantly I remained through to my promise of remaining Benjamin Uwajumogu, by promoting philanthropy, accessibility, straightforwardness , discipline, due process, patriotism and respect for human dignity in government.’’

Uwajumogu who thanked the youths and women groups for their show of uncommon patriotism and love for the development of the zone, described them as the; ‘’conscience’’ of the zone. He expressed happiness and confidence that the group’s genuine support for him will spur him to do more for the zone if elected.

Earlier,  Hon Chika B.O Onyema who was  nominated  by the group to speak on their behalf,  asserted that their support for the Uwajumogu candidacy was not only based on his soaring popularity, accessibility, philanthropy and track record of achievements within three years as the Speaker of the state Assembly to reposition Okigwe zone and make it a model as could be seen in other zones of the state, but based on the masses zeal of effecting positive change in the political landscape of the zone in 2015.
