Imo State Government dismisses LP’s allegations and denies involvement in party’s internal crisis.

The Imo State Government has denied allegations that it is responsible for the current crisis rocking the State Chapter of the Labour Party (LP). The National Secretary of LP had accused Governor Hope Uzodimma of trying to hijack the party following the invasion of its premises in Owerri by security agencies. However, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy dismissed the claims, stating that the invasion was due to infighting among the party’s various factions in the State. The government denied involvement in the LP’s internal crisis and stated that security agencies were present to enforce a court order at the LP Secretariat.
