#IMOAIR: Imo Government partners with Dana Air under 10 year contract.
Earlier today, the maiden flight of Imo Air owned by the Imo State Government touched down at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport Owerri with the first set of passengers.
The state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha was accompanied by the first lady Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, members of the State Executive Council. A a large crowd of Imo citizens gathered to witness the event.
Operated by Dana Airlines, the 140-Seater plane landed at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport at 11.42 pm. In his speech, Governor Okorocha explained that the Imo government did not have an operating air license hence the partnership with Dana Air under a 10 year contract.
IMO STATE BLOG gathered that the state acquired five aircrafts and the remaining four will start operation within a few weeks. This is a remarkable feat for the Okorocha administration.
