This is to inform the general public and the people of Obinugwu Autonomous community in Orlu Local Government Area of the state in particular, that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of our dear state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, OON, has constituted a Committee to be headed by the Secretary to Government of Imo State, Prof. Anthony Anwuka as Chairman, on the vacant Ezeship stool in the Obinugwu Autonomous community following the dethronement of the former Eze, Dr Cletus Ilomunanya, with a view to ensuring the recognition of a substantive traditional ruler for the Community without further delay.
Against the backdrop of this development, the governor has also directed that the Transition Committee Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, Chief Eddy Olumba should oversee the affairs of the Obinugwu Autonomous Community pending the recognition of a substantive traditional ruler for the community.
Already, the state governor had handed over the staff of office and certificate of recognition to Chief Anthony Elugwara as the new Eze of Lagwa autonomous community in Aboh Mbaise, LGA, whose former traditional ruler, Chief Cosmos Onyeneke was equally removed.
The governor calls on the people of the autonomous communities involved to remain calm and peaceful.
