Oh Jesus!! The kidnapped Dr.Moses Amako is DEAD!!!

It was just the other day we wrote aboutDr.Moses Amako’s kidnap. Thanks to the olodo Police force in Imo State and an Administration that is yet to get it together, we have the body of Dr. Amako lying cold in the mortuary after he was released from his captors.

This is how the daily sun is reporting the story:

Dr Moses Amako, the immediate past Chief Medical Director of Owerri Specialist Hospital, Umuguma in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State who was kidnapped on December 1, but later released one week after, has reportedly died.

Dr Amako died last Saturday at about 7 pm following bullet injuries he sustained in one of his legs. The abductors shattered his leg with bullets and kept him captive for over one week.
Daily Sun reported that the late Dr Amako was released to the family last week Wednesday having paid a ransom of N 20 million. He was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
It was gathered that more than 10 medical consultants battled to save his life but the injuries were affected by tetanus.

Confirming the report to Daily Sun yesterday, one of the younger brothers to the late Amako, Kingsley, described his death as a big loss to the community. He said that his demise has put the community in painful mood. According to him, one of the younger brothers to the late doctor collapsed on hearing the sad news and he was receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri. The youths are planning a peaceful demonstration to the Government House, Owerri today (Monday) over the cruel demise of Dr. Amako.

Dr Amako was kidnapped on Thursday, December 1, while going back to his hometown, Ohii, in Owerri West L.G.A in company of his wife. His widow was later released by the hoodlums after shattering his leg with bullets.

I can’t find words. While the people of Ogboko will be rejoicing with Gov.Okorocha and his family this Christmas season, the families of Dr.Amako will be mourning on the other side of town. How long will this continue? How many more cases like this does IMO STATE have to witness before we get the ball rolling on security and flush out these hoodlums that have terrorized our land? Why is our own always different ?

The nation is in shambles so do the states, Imo inclusive. As long as the gap between the haves and have-nots keeps getting wider, the rascals will continue to find safe heavens in the parts of country. I earlier fostered a suggestion for the states to come together to find a solution to the problem. Apart from finding a way to create enabling environments for jobs to thrive, the leaders should also find a way to set-up anti-kidnap/rubbery team well, equipped to fight the hoodlums. The current security operatives in the country is not able to handle minor crisis talklest of well organized, well armed thieves called kidnappers. States like Imo, Abia, and Rivers could come together to setup and fund a security operative independent of current police force to fight major crimes in the states.
First, the security operative could comprise of special squads drawn from the army and police. The army command can give approval for this. A helicopter, special armor-vehicles, communication gadgets, arms, and life insurance coverage provided to members of the team to enable them operate effectively and efficiently. These might be too costly for one state to fund hence states can team-up together to jointly pull resource and fund the fund the program – it is a program hence it should be built to last. The team could be seen as elite squard devoyed of favoratism for which most Nigerian programs are known this days. Only the well motived, phisycally fit to fight crimes in the states should be admitted into the squard’s membership. It could be made up of 50 to 100 devoted men and women enough to cover a 24 hour, 7 days a week. The squards’ contact teelephone number provided to the citizenry for prompt crime notifications.
It does not take a helicopter more than 20 minutes to travel from Owerri to Aba or from Port Harcourt to Owerri, therefore enough time to get to a troubled location to initiate fights against crimals and tract/trail there escape routes while men/women in armored vehicles get to the locations to liverage their efforts.
Criminals currently operate with impunity knowing that their is no fortified forces currently able to withstand their (thieves,kidnappers) barrage of forces. In current dispensation also, victims do not have trusts in current crime fighting peratives and would not dare challenge even unarmed kidnapper. Any force(s) capable of immediate response to crimes will give residents of the states a sense of confidence and at same time deter the mischievous criminals in the states. The wealthy citizens in the state could be called upon to assist in the sponsorship of this kind of special force buiding programs. Please, let the leaders look into my proposal. n.chyke@yahoo.com

We are all suffering from self-imposed Karma due to our wrong principles. The fruit of the seeds of wrong volitions that enthrone Satan and his minions have been with us for a long time now. It is worsening with every passing day. Security can do little to save us now. All volitions must become positive for change to anchor. God Himself cannot help us now. There is only one saving grace. The winnowing that is to come will purify the earth. These are signs of end time and no army can change the fruits of what has been planted for the past century of greed and avarice.

Do we not have a Nigerian Army division or battalion at Umuagwo? Are you telling me they are not aware of the situation? Does 82 division Enugu and JTF have to come in like they did for the Aba crises? This cannot continue. Imaging the loss of the very scarce doctors we have to violent crime. I saw a great hospital in Nlagu, Ngwa destroyed in less than a year after several Doctors were kidnapped, some shot, and many relocated, completely destroying a major General hospital serving the population of Aba. The fact is despite all our good intentions, we will not move an inch foward with insecurity. The authorities have to be ruthless with violent criminals, DEATH PENALTY for kidnappers and armed robbers. Enough is Enough.

Imo state is becoming very insecure for we the people from the state.how can kidnap be the order of the day.we don’t even knw who the next target is…we appeal to Gov rochas to find a perfect solution to this calamity befallen imo state.if there is job opportunity i dont think d youths wil be involve in this kidnap act,please enough of hotels,let factories come alive in this state,wit that such l nt occur.to the family of late Dr amako.pls take heart,it is a big loss nd we pray that God l give us the heart to bear this great loss.i strongly believe that d killers wil never go unpunish.

It’s definitely not looking ok with Rochas regime – I was of the opinion that he has so much energy flowing and which could well be translated to charismatic and effective leadership.

One school of thought – could it be that the is a governmental process or system of eliminating or crippling their enemies? Afterall, when it happened in Abia, the bloke there refused to act. Hmmmmmm.

i just also lost a dear uncle over d wkend to armed robbery attack,he left left behind small children who stil needs hm 4a long time to come, its v clear this Goodluck regime is badluck and has lost d battle to good and safe government, some jobless youths now now thinks robbery and kidnap is a way of survival, and this government are not creatin employment and so these bandits are willing to b in this business for along time cos they ve got nothin to loose,their own life means nothin to them let alone innocent lives, plz lets call on Nigerians wiv international connections to other governmnts abroad to come to our plight, things are out of hands as it is. It’s really sad and disturbing. many more mad people are being trained on regular basis as a result of neglect by the people and government of the country. The case of insecurity is a general one and not only in Imo State.

I still insist that those things we call churches have no God’s presence in them for they have looted the people they pretend to draw close to God. The devil has won in this case by sending his agents to further destroy the whole idea of worshiping God in a bungalow we call church. God have mercy!

All these will continue to happen so long as we decide not to shame evil and imbibe holiness. Sincerity and fairness in governance and our respective homes will put an end to all these rubbish.

The truth must set us free!
