Ojukwu was a symbol of Igbo unity – Chief of Staff, Prince Eze Madumere.

Speaking to the newsmen at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerrishortly after Governor Okorocha’s flight departed for Lagos en route London, the Chief of Staff to Imo State Governor said that Ikemba, Dim Chukwuemeka odimegwu Ojukwu until his death remained a symbol of Igbo Unity.

Prince Eze Madumere further averred that Ojukwu’s death has left a historical indelible vacuum in the story of Igbo race. He however postulated that his death should rather further the unity of the Igbos than disintegrate them.

His words, “Dim Ojukwu’s death is a big blow. His place in history is undoubtedly almost irreplaceable. We can only console ourselves and emulate those things he fought for and stood for. Nigeria is expected to do more in appreciation and immortalization of this great man of history”.

Imo State Government Chief of Staff called on the Igbos to come together as one and form a common front to confront the future and build the Igbo nation of pride in Nigeria.

“His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha understands the need for Igbos unity and its correlation to their development and that is why he has always advised against playing politics with the harmonious relationship that should supposedly exist among the Igbos,” said the Chief of Staff.
