Ojukwu was the most authentic Igbo man ever born – Former Deputy governor, Dr.Mrs Ada Okwuonu

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Imo State, Dr. (Mrs.)Ada Okwuonu, has described the Late Ikemba of Nnewi, Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as not the leader of the Igbos alone but a former Head of State of the Defunct Biafran Republic which she said make up the present South-East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country.

The former number two Imo citizen made this statement while briefing some journalists in London recently. However, she said that the Igbos are still right for their unreserved passion for the late Ikemba of Nnewi because she sees the deceased as the most celebrated Igbo man on earth.

‘In as much as our Late father was an Igbo man, he however ruled a jurisdiction that extended beyond Igbo nation and should be celebrated by all. Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and parts of Delta States were part of the defunct republic the Late Biafran Head of State ruled. Nevertheless, we the Igbos are so passionate about him because he was the most honest, courageous and authentic Igbo man ever born on earth and he continued to fight for our course till his death’. Therefore, I see him not only as an Igbo leader but a national patriot’.

While commiserating with the Ojukwu family and the entire Nigeria on the death of the late retired army general, the former ministerial nominee was of the opinion that the Igbos should start thinking of who should be Ojukwu’s successor.

She however said that since the demise of the former Biafran leader, she had been in constant touch with the deceased family in London.
