Prof.Jerry Gana visits Imo. Applauds Gov.Okorocha for his monumental achievements..

One time Minister for Information and Presidential aspirant, Prof.Jerry Gana was in Owerri recently to meet with Governor Okorocha. He led the Board of Trustees of the Centre for African Israeli Partnership to pay a courtesy call visit on  the Governor.


In that meeting, Gov.Okorocha  reiterated the committment of the Imo state government  to partner with any organization or well-spirited individuals in the development of the state. He said that the present administration was ready to partner with the organization on infrastructural development and good governance.


The governor also disclosed that the state government was already inpartnership with an Israeli company presently handling the construction of a Diagnostic Centre in the state. He noted that his administration had created innovative ideas for good governance and the development of the state such as the Community Government Council (CGC), commercialization, back to land programme, special adoption of school children and free education at all levels in the state.


Okorocha stated that his administration has attracted a 3.2 billion Naira Project from Shell BP/Federal Government for the construction of an Ultra modern Gas Plant at Assah in Ohaji/ Egbema LGA and commended the federal government for bringing shell back to Imo state. The governor however lamented that Imo state has not benefitted from the Amnesty programme and appealed to the federal government to include the youths of Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema in the programme. He also stressed that he would extend his hand of friendship to the people of middle belt, especially now Prof. Gana is the chairman of the forum in order to build a bridge of economic and political development.

 Professor Jerry Gana applauded Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his monumental achievements in Imo state and urged him to continue the good work. He used the opportunity to intimate the governor about the programme of the Israeli centre which he said that the advantages would be more beneficial to African communities.

Prof. Gana used the opportunity to invite Governor Rochas Okorocha as a chairman for the lecture on legislation as a corner stone for good governance coming up on Abuja on October, saying that the position was given to Gov. Okorocha because of his remarkable achievements in the state.
