PUBLIC NOTICE: List of Imo State Government Contracts – Invitation to Tender

IMO STATE BLOG has received a comprehensive list of the following approved landmark projects in the State. This document was made available to us by the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr.Obinna Duruji.

Contractors may now bid on any of the listed projects. Truly the revolution has begun. This shows the transparency of the Okorocha Administration. According to Dr. Duruji, Contractors who wish to apply for any of these projects must register with the Ministry of Works. Contractors would be expected to meet basic qualification criteria and provide evidence of ability to perform. All interested companies must follow due process. There will be no exceptions.

Sorry for dat i can now open it, its scanned… If all dis projects re executed, who wil tink of leavin imo for other places. Imo will be de best in west africa. God see u tru my governor. And contractors dont jeopardize de governors efforts. Good move, more of dat.

Missing from the list: Contract for supply of life’s most essential substance WATER (pipe-borne)to Imolites. Imolites, from Okigwe to Orlu, from Owerri to Mgbidi lack pipe-borne water in abundance. Na you Biko. Joi John, the First Lady, what do you say?

  LOL!!! What do you want me to say? Bear in mind that the Imo Water Corporation has been privatized by the State Government. Perhaps, they will be handling that.

    Where in Nigeria or in another developing country are private companies saddled with the responsibility of supply of pipe-borne water to citizens? Supply of water is at the core of govts obligations to citizens. Real cost of pipeborne water is hardly paid for by citizens in the civlized world. Is privatisation of pipe-borne water supply in Imo state not amounting to IMSG postponing its obligations and passing buck?

By calling you First Lady, I only meant to address you as the First Lady of this blog spot, nothing else intended. After posting my comment above, I bumped onto where you commented angrily about somebody tagging you Governor Okorocha’s mouthpiece or something like that. Discernig readers do not see you that way. Do not be bothered with remarks of people like that. This is your blogspot, if you can’t stand the heat, quit the kitchen. But beware: sometimes some of us from elsewhere in Imo state often see you as the Spokesgal of Owerri zone.

@EMEKA, Here in San Francisco, provision of water is handled by a private company. I do not know where you got your facts about governments being the sole provider of water resources. Whatever that works is acceptable. All what we need is abondant pure water supply to the state.

  @NANA, Is San Fransisco’s situation any where closer to that of Imo state? Before private companies did set out to handle provision of portable water to people of S. Francisco, successive governments out there must have in many many years established and handled some tested and assured pattern of water supply system. Besides, public portable water supply is a very expensive venture, the people of S. Francisco could pay private water suppliers, but can people of Imo state afford to pay private water suppliers? Bet, at the long run, people of Imo state may have to resort to the usual “sufferman’s” private water boreholes.

I am an expert in water engineering and I would like to see how to help the people of Imo state reduce the burden of water shortages in the state. There are ways we, as good citizens of the state, should work in partnership with the government and/or any private initiative in order to provide affordable drinking water to the people of Imo state and beyond. I will appreciate ideas, especially to find out those water boreholes or water reservoirs in the state that have stopped working for years now. Please, let us all contribute to make Imo the idea ‘city’ in live and work.
