It is no longer news that Rev.Chris Okotie is divorcing his second wife, Stephanie whom he married four years ago. Today, the message below was posted on his social media page.
10 YEARS AFTER:
WE ARE STILL HOPING FOR A FRESH START.
In 2002 I took the landmark decision to join the political race when I put myself forward for election into the exalted office of President of our great country, Nigeria.
The following year, 2003, I contested the presidential election. I was also involved in the 2007 and 2011 editions. The rest is history.
Ten years after, we are yet to see the dividends of democracy. Instead our woes continue to multiply. The terror attacks and the violence on our streets bear testimony to our dysfunctional polity which is still devilled by infrastructural deficit, corruption and bureaucratic ineptitude.
Yet there’s hope for a new Nigeria. God has a plan for this nation. I believe we shall overcome. This winter of discontent will end. Our spring will come under a new paradigm. It is well.
Rev. Chris Okotie
Someone should please wake Rev.Chris Okotie from this his Presidential dream. He seems to be to be taking Phil 4:13 too far. That the scripture says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us does not mean we should abuse it and use it anyhow.
Dear Rev.Okotie, why don’t we lay this Presidential ambition to rest once and for all? Besides, if are experiencing difficulties handling common family matters, what convinces you that can manage the Political affairs of a country which in your own words is “still devilled by infrastructural deficit, corruption and bureaucratic ineptitude.”?
