FUJI HO– — USE OF COMMOTION: Drama brought to us by our elected Legislators at the State House of Assembly.

The Imo State House of Assembly has issued a rejoinder on a February 16th publication of the Daily Sun.  Before we read their rejoinder, let us acquaint ourselves with the  story that was published.

EXCERPTS:

At the Imo House of Assembly, a “core group” of eight legislators has emerged with distinct offices that tend to run parallel to the House leadership. The group led by Simon Iwunze representing Isiala Mbano is said to be funded by PDP bigwigs based in Abuja and has allegedly earmarked the sum of N50 million each to woo more members to their side. Curiously, the group has slated Greg Okemiri representing Oru East as speaker and Kingsley Dimaku representing Ehime Mbano as his deputy. Other members of the group who have been having several meetings in the last five days include Obioma Ekennia (Ezinnihitte Mbaise), Victor Ndunagu (Mbaitoli), Samuel Anyanwu (Ikeduru) and Theodora Igwe (Ideato North).

An oath-taking ceremony was said to have held last night. A member of the House representing Ideato South, Ikechukwu Amuka, confirmed the development when contacted, adding that if it was a grand ploy by the PDP to “cause confusion by pre-empting a judgment yet to come.” He said his group of 18 members was also meeting to forestall what he called their “evil design” to halt the transformation of the state.

Na wa o…so, did this really happen? See rejoinder below.
