In his desire to ensure better condition of living for the Okigwe people, the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has re-iterated his pledge towards rapid development and ameliorating sufferings or rural dwellers in Okigwe Senatorial Zone of the State.
The Speaker made the promise at the inauguration of the Ihitte-Uboma Chapter of the Okigwe People’s Political Movement, OPPM, at the council headquarters, Isinweke.
He stated the resolve of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in ensuring that development gets to the rural dweller, adding that the taste of development already being witnessed in the zone will never stop half-way.
The speaker, who however, acknowledged that more developmental imprints were still needed to guarantee the better life for the people, also urged people of the zone to be part of the needed change by voting enmass for the APC come 2015.
He said “We are already witnessing progress in Okigwe and we will never retrogress again. We have done a lot, but there are few more to do, and by the Grace of God, in 2015, something great will happen through masses vote for APC,” he stated.
Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu, also urged people of the area to stand out and be counted in the effort to change the face of the Zone, as being witnessed in other zones of the state, pointing out that the pace of development being recorded in the zone by the rescue administration was an indication that the zone is no longer in darkness, but have embraced the light.
According to him, “Nobody can intimidate anybody in Okigwe zone again. The people have seen the light and will not go back to darkness”, he concluded.
