Gov.Rochas Okorocha:The rejected stone becomes the Chief cornerstone

May 29th 2011, marked another Historical day for us. It gave birth to the Inauguration Ceremony of  His Excellency, Rochas Okorocha  as the 14th Governor of Imo State. The 5th to be Democratically elected.

Like a dream, it has finally come to pass.Alas! The rejected stone has become the Chief cornerstone. Indeed, Your Excellency, Your story is proof that there is a God of the 11th hour. I believe that I speak for the youth at large when I say that in my generation,  your name will forever be cast in stone.

It has been 24 Hours since you took your Oath of Office. Amidst the jubiliations and festivities, we are  reminded that another phase has begun.

Reflecting on the enormous expectations of Your Excellency’s administration, I must admit that a part of me is nervous. We do not know what the future holds; we can only hope on God to bring the best our way.

With that said, I have resolved to stay positive, watchful and prayerful. As much as I have my fears and worries, I am not moved because I know that the same God who exalted you to this position will be there with you every step of the way.

The Bible records King Joash as the  8th King of Judah. He ascended to the throne at the young age of Seven and reigned for forty years. Despite his shortcomings, He turned out to become one of the most outstanding kings of Judah. We also have King Josiah who was only Eight years old when he was crowned the 16th King of the land of Judah. The Bible tells us in 2 Kings 22 vs 1 that he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and followed completely in the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left.

I make reference to the lives of these Kings because, irrespective of whatever flaws there might be, it is our  prayer that Your Excellency will RISE to become one of the most outstanding Leaders in Nigeria. No matter how long your Administration governs the people of Imo State; it is also my prayer that on your last day in office, I can  proudly refer to Your Excellency as an exemplary leader who governed with intergrity till the end.

May  the Almigthy God guide and protect you as you begin your tenure. Just like He bestowed wisdom on King Solomon, May he grant you the wisdom needed for Governance.

Congratulations once more, Your Excellency.
