Imo Model schools will last 200 years – Governor Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha has said that the newly constructed model schools by the state government in the 305 wards of the state will last for over 200 years.

The governor stated this when he visited the factory site of the
company handling the construction of the schools at the state capital, Owerri.

Governor Okorocha remarked that the company had been mandated to train, in conjunction with the Imo College of Advanced Professional Studies (ICAPS), indigenes of the state in modern building technologies.

He disclosed that each of these e-learning and computerized schools would be erected every four days by the company, after the pre-cast job.

The Managing Director of Roche Group, the company handling the project, Mr. Lan Roche, said that the schools blocks cast with metals and concrete to guarantee long lasting will all be fabricated at the factory site, lifted the school sites with truck and fixed according to modern technological standards.

Also, Sen. Bello Maitama Yusuf who is also a former Minister of
Commerce that happened to be in the governor’s entourage said that he was overwhelmed by the extend of development projects being embarked upon by the Imo state Government and wondered the source of the huge funds needed for such projects.
